Japanese Film Festival 2023 & Access cinema | Dir: Masaaki Yuasa, 2022, 97 mins, 12A
http://www.jff.ie/

Set in 14th century Japan, Inu-Oh tells the story of two social outcasts – dancer Inu-Oh and blind biwa (lute) player Tomona – who join forces to become a revolutionary musical duo. They work together to create an exciting new musical and dramatic storytelling style that wows the public but unnerves the establishment.

Directed with characteristic verve and stylistic bravura by JFF favourite Masaaki Yuasa (Mind Game, Lu Over the Wall), Inu-Oh is a film that takes folklore and transforms into a wonderfully expressive animated rock opera.
