Eleanor Rogers – Filmmaker

Eleanor Rogers is a queer filmmaker, photographer and musician from Co. Louth. She graduated from the National Film School, IADT, Dun Laoghaire in 2018 with a First-Class Honours Degree in Film & Television Production with a major in directing and a minor in Sound. Eleanor wrote and directed her first short film “Breastfriends” which premiered at the GAZE International LGBT Film Festival, Dublin in 2018 and won Best Irish Short. Following on from this success Breastfriends was selected for a number of national and international film festivals In 2021 Eleanor was 1 of 11 projects recently selected to be apart of Screen Ireland’s mentored writing development scheme “Spotlight TV Comedy”.
During the residency, Eleanor will be working on the research/development and screenplay of her first feature film. A female lead, coming of age/ musical comedy set in Co. Louth during the mid 2000s. Through the mentorship with An Táin Arts Centre, Eleanor will begin to pitch her project to various production companies next year.
