Riley Waite (b. 1992) California, raised in Dundalk, Ireland, and currently lives and works in Portland, Oregon. He graduated in 2019 from Fine Art Drawing and Painting at the California State University, Long Beach. Riley focuses on narrative based figure painting and formal investigations centered around life in Ireland and California. Riley actively attends international residencies and painting exhibitions and was shortlisted for the Zurich Portrait Prize in 2021.

Riley will be in residence in the space adjacent to the Basement Gallery from July – September 2023 and will exhibit a work in progress exhibition for the month of September.
