Moya Gibney – Emerging Visual Artist in Residence 2024
1 July - 30 September
Moya Gibney is a printmaker from Drogheda, who graduated from NCAD in 2018 with a degree in Fine Art. Their work delves into personal identity and gender, focusing on the experiences of gender-queer individuals assigned female at birth. Moya’s practice, informed by their own queer identity, aims to amplify underrepresented voices and challenge conventional narratives. During their residency at An Táin, they hope to engage with the queer community, exploring themes of identity through figure-based works. Drawing from the conventions of art history and societal norms, Moya seeks to evoke critical reflection on gender, beauty, and power.
Moya will be in residence in the space adjacent to the Basement Gallery from July – September 2024 and will exhibit a work in progress exhibition for the month of September.
