Steven Spielberg’s latest film is a semi-autobiographical coming-of-age story set in the 1950s and 60s. Sammy Fabelman is the young son of Mitzi and Burt. A trip to a Cecil B DeMille movie is a transformative experience for Sammy, and his parents encourage him to start making 8mm home movies. As the years pass, Sammy’s filmmaking ambitions grow… but he also starts noticing some troubling cracks in his parents’ marriage.
