We are so excited to announce a new initiative aimed at supporting family carers in the community. In partnership with national charity Family Carers Ireland, we are now offering a special family carer concession rate for selected performances designed to make the arts more accessible to those who dedicate their time and energy to providing care for family members with additional care needs.

Family carers can now enjoy discounted tickets on select shows at An Táin Arts Centre when they present a valid Family Carers Ireland membership card. Carers can either purchase tickets online or at the Box Office. Additional photo ID is recommended when presenting the membership card.

Concessionary carer tickets are available for selected shows programmed specificially by An Táin Arts Centre.

Paul Hayes, Director of An Táin Arts Centre says: “We have identified a gap in our concessionary ticket offerings, and we’re delighted to be able to introduce this new rate for family carers. Carers are an invaluable part of our community, and we believe they truly deserve acknowledgment and support. By partnering with Family Carers Ireland, we hope to provide carers with the opportunity to enjoy the arts alongside those they care for, enriching their lives and acknowledging their vital role in society. An Táin Arts Centre is proud to work alongside Family Carers Ireland in this new partnership to ensure the arts are accessible to all members of the community.

The new concessionary rate aims to ease the financial burden for carers, allowing them to enjoy the cultural offerings of An Táin Arts Centre while spending quality time with those they care for.

Speaking about the initiative, Sue O’Grady, Marketing Manager with Family Carers Ireland, said: “We are delighted to have worked alongside Paul and the team at An Táin Arts Centre to make attending social events such as going to the theatre more accessible to family carers. There are over half a million people in Ireland providing care in the home for their loved ones, relatives or friends who need additional support, and like everyone, they enjoy a night off to enjoy something so wonderful as a show. Where we can, we must come together as a society and make Ireland a more accepting and accessible place for family carers, who are the hidden workforce in Ireland. We welcome this step change within An Táin Arts Centre.”
